"I have been purchasing these types of items from Emergency Essentials for years with good results. I taught food storage skills for years in Florida where we take being prepare very seriously. I will share this with you. Do not just put your items on a shelf, Use them now and rotate them. Yes, they last a LONG LIFE. . . but learn how to use them now. Butter and shortening powder are pure gold! Because they are dehydrated you must mix them with oil or water to the correct consistency. This is simple to do. Try them out so you know how. Enjoy!"

"I used these dried apples, reconstituted, to make an apple pie. I have to stress that the #10 can made only one 9" pie. It was delicious, but awfully expensive for one pie. My family prefers to be able to taste the apples in a pie, so I will never do that again. However, the slices are very good when used as a snack."
