Rich Onion Gravy

Rich Onion Gravy

(Yield 3 1/2 - 4 Cups)




Ingredients:

1 Cup EE Dehydrated Chopped Onions
4 Cups Water
2 Tsp EE Granulated White Sugar
2 Tbsp Oil
6 Tbsp EE All-Purpose Flour
4 Tbsp EE Butter Powder
1/2 Tsp EE Iodized Salt
1/4 Tsp Garlic powder
1/4 Tsp Black pepper
Optional 1-2 Tsp Worcestershire sauce

 

Instructions:

  1. Simmer: In a skillet, add onions and 2 cups water, simmering for 10-15 minutes until most of the water is gone.
  2. Sauté: Add oil and sugar to the onions for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Combine: In a separate bowl, mix flour, butter powder, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  4. Thicken: Add 2 cups water (and optional Worcestershire) to the sautéed onions. Add the dry ingredients, whisking until well combined. Allow to thicken for 3-5 minutes over medium heat, stirring frequently.
