Simple. Down-grid first aid. How are you going to help someone, if there is no 911.

When that earthquake hit the Salt Lake Valley, it will likely be at 0300, in the middle of the worst blizzard in a hundred years.

What do you do when there is no 911?

Since I live in a major metropolitan area in the middle of the Midwest I'd like to see a discussion on how a person's location affects their emergency preparedness plans

How much water do we need to store for four
people and what storage works best?
Can we store our own if we have large containers and
what can we do to keep it from stagnating?

Thanks

I would love to get more info on what people use their wheat grinder for besides grinding wheat. I know you can use it to grind a lot of other things too, so I'm curious to see what else you can do with it.

How can a diabetic prepare an economical and sugar free food storage supply?

I have never seen diabetic foods offered anywhere, not even at the Bishop's Storehouse. When I have asked about this I am told that I can purchase my own "sugar free Jello" or "Splenda" and can it myself, but that is really, really expensive! I would like to see a discussion on this topic.

I'd like to read a running post, either weekly or monthly that helps guide less affluent people on building up their food storage. I interested in financial levels of less than $100 dollars, preferably less than $50, a month available for food storage and how to build both long term and short term food storage.

How can diabetics best prepare their food storage?
Many of the foods offered for long term storage, and at the Bishop's Storehouse are high in sugar and carbohydrates. What alternatives do Diabetics have in regards to food storage choices? How can a diabetic economically prepare a diabetic food storage program?

I would like to see a discussion regarding our temporal preparedness aligning with our spiritual preparedness. How has preparing your food storage helped increase your faith in Heavenly Father? How can our faithfulness protect and preserve our food storage? Are the two directly related?

How are saints preparing in other nations where food storage is prohibited? Will the US follow suit and restrict or prohibit us from practicing this aspect of our faith? How are new converts to the church preparing?

I would like to know the most effective system to purify water (2 or 3 gallons at a time)too. I live in FL and we have hurricanes. I always have plenty of bottled water on hand but it's other emergencies that concern me. Thank you.

I would love to read a discussion about how to prepare for emergencies when we have little kids at home. I have a 3-year-old, 2-year-old and baby due in December. What kinds of things do I pack for our kids to ensure the least amount of stress in an emergency?
Also, I love to learn how to can fruits and veggies from those who have canned/are canning a lot of their own food storage.

I'd love to hear about where to store 24 hour kits. We keep several kits in various places but the 24 hour kit is tricky – I don't want to keep it in the house in case of fire or other destructive force; but we don't want to store it where the temperature isn't controlled either.

I recently moved out in the country and have a well. But it scares me that I have a well and it is powered by electricity. I know if I buy a generator it will solve my problem to an extent. But then you have to think abt storing fuel….for the generator…Also, we have a pond next to our house, how could I use that to make it drinkable? I know I could use it for toliets, washing, but what if it was all we had? hmmm…
