Flaky Pie Crust

(Makes 9-10-inch pie crust)




Ingredients:

1 1/2 Cups EE All-Purpose Flour
10 Tbsp EE Shortening Powder
1/2 Tsp EE Granulated White Sugar
1/4 Tsp EE Iodized Salt
1/2 Cup Cold water

 

Instructions:

  1. Mix: Combine all dry ingredients.
  2. Add water: Work into a dough with hands.
  3. Roll bottom crust: Take 2/3 of the dough and roll into a 12–13 inch diameter circle.
  4. Fill: Add in desired pie filling.
  5. Roll top crust: Take remaining 1/3 of the dough and roll into a 9–10 inch diameter circle.
  6. No pre-cooking: Do not pre-cook crust.
  7. Bake: At 375°F for 35–40 minutes, until slightly golden brown. Let sit for at least 15 minutes.
