Great Site! Would love more recipes on using the dehydrated foods I purchase.
Have many of you used gluten as a meat substitute? I have a 4 year old granddaughter that refuses to eat animals and I looking for substitutes that her mom can use.

I would like to see discussions about how to stock up, what to stock up with, when you don't do wheat or dairy.

I'm interested in so many things, but mostly on information of the things that we would definitely NEED for emergencies and then things that would just be nice. It's hard to figure out what is the best to spend money on. Love the site! Rheanna Eagle Mountain, Utah

I would be interested in a discussion on electrical needs during a long time without power. We were without electricity for nearly 2 weeks with Ike, and there are some things I could have done in advance to prepare for that (e.g. bought a generator, purchased the solar powered battery charger, etc).

This is so cool. Our family is working to get off grid as well as grow our own food. We have a home built in 1952 that has a bomb shelter built in the basement. We have all of our emergency supplies stored here…hopefully never to be used

Great blog, first one I've actually wanted to follow! My question is what is the best way to get started with food storage for someone on a fixed income?

I'd like to know more about storing water. I currently have gallon water jugs from the store and 24 packs of individual bottles. I don't know how long this is all good for and if it is just better to store in large drums and buckets? What is the best way to store water?

I would love a post detailing tornado preparedness. We are moving from Utah to Oklahoma soon and it would be nice to know the best way to prepare out there.

I would love to read a discussion about urban preparedness. Those of us who live in cities have small lots to grow, and even less storage space to store.

Hurricane preparedness. I was surprised by how much stress impacted how we handled our 72 hr kits. And in the heat? Tuna was a BAD choice.

Another one I want to learn more about is that powdered shortening and how you get it to look like the photo. Reconstitute with water??? I wasn't clear on that from the catalog.

This site is awesome! I would like a discussion on automobile emergency kits, especially for winter travel. There's so much difference between the premade kits that I'm not sure what's really important or what I should add.

My husband and I are eagerly working and planning our emergency and disaster plan. We would like to see more on growing your own vegetable garden (for New England area), what grows well and easy, and the jarring process (as we have never done this before) We know how to freeze, but dealing with the possible worst (no electric or communication) we all NEED to be prepared. I'm excited to add this blog to my "favorites" list. I would like to learn about indoor gardening — so that I can eat salad greens all year round without having to go outside to plant. This would be especially helpful if we couldn't get to the store in the wintertime due to whatever event might happen (trucker's strike, drought, etc.).

I also would love to learn more and more about basic gardening principles, as I am still learning in that area.

I love the idea of this Blog.
I do backpacking and I prefer freezer bag cooking.

I use the "Cheese Blend" as a main ingredient. With ramen and chicke or on burritos. Even cheesy rice meals. It does it all.

Now people have a blog they can share their unique ideas and uses for amazing products.
